How to Create a Digital Business Card Destination with TacTile

A TacTile digital business card lets anyone tap or scan to instantly save your name, title, company, phone, and email to their phone. Set it up three ways: Build it natively in TacTile's editor, Connect an existing CRM, or Link to a vCard you already host elsewhere.

What is a digital business card destination?

A digital business card destination is a tap-to-save vCard that puts your contact details directly into someone's phone — no app download or manual entry required.

37% of businesses have adopted digital business cards, up from just 16% in 2020, and companies using them report 30% higher follow-up rates than those relying on paper cards.

How to create a digital business card destination

Build

Create the card natively in TacTile’s editor — full control over every field.Recommended

  1. Open the TacTile app and tap Create.
  2. On the category picker, select Contact Card — “Your digital business card.”
  3. Confirm the standard Contact Card type, then choose Build as your creation path.
  4. Upload a headshot or logo and enter your name, title, and company.
  5. Add your phone number, email, and physical address if relevant.
  6. Add social links and any extra fields — website, calendar booking link, pronouns.
  7. Arrange field order and choose a card layout/theme from the available templates.
  8. Preview the card and confirm the vCard download behaves on both iOS and Android.
  9. Tap Save & Publish, then assign the destination to your NFC card, tag, or QR code.
  10. Test it with a second phone to confirm the “Add to Contacts” prompt fires.
Connect

Import from a CRM or contacts platform so cards stay in sync with the source.

  1. Open the TacTile app and tap Create.
  2. On the category picker, select Contact Card, then choose Connect.
  3. Choose your platform — TacTile supports connecting to platforms such as HubSpot or Google Contacts.
  4. Tap Connect account and complete the OAuth login on your provider’s own screen.
  5. Select which contact record or fields populate the card (name, title, phone, email).
  6. Review the field mapping and confirm it matches what you want visitor-facing.
  7. Tap Save. Future edits to the source record may sync automatically to your card.
  8. Assign the destination to your NFC card, tag, or QR code and test the save flow.

Which path should I use?

If you're starting from scratch, Build is right for almost everyone — full control over exactly what appears, down to layout and photo. If your company manages contact records centrally in a CRM, Connect keeps cards updated automatically when the source changes, which matters most for larger sales teams. If you already have a hosted vCard, Link is fastest — paste the URL and you're done.

Common use cases

Trade-show sales rep

Hands out an NFC card that saves their name, direct line, and email in one tap, then checks the TacTile dashboard that evening to see exactly who tapped and follow up.

Real estate agent

Puts a Contact Card on a yard-sign QR code alongside listing photos, so a scanning buyer saves the agent’s details instantly instead of squinting at a phone number on a sign.

Freelancer or consultant

Adds a Contact Card to their email signature and Link Hub, giving new leads a one-tap way to save their info without a full website visit or a follow-up email exchange.

Front-of-house staff

Each team member wears an NFC badge with their own Contact Card — useful for regulars who want to reach a specific stylist, server, or associate directly next time.

Conference speaker

Displays a Contact Card QR code on their closing slide, letting the whole room save their details at once instead of a scramble for phones and paper cards.

Digital Business Card + analytics

Every tap and scan is logged with timestamp, device type, and location region. For Contact Cards, TacTile also tracks vCard save rate — how many viewers actually saved the contact versus just viewing — the clearest signal of whether your card is converting attention into a lasting connection.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Contact Card work if the recipient doesn't have the TacTile app?
Yes. Contact Cards use the standard vCard format, which iOS and Android both open natively — no app install is required on the recipient’s end for the save-to-contacts prompt to appear.
Can I update my Contact Card after it's printed on a physical card?
Yes. The physical NFC tag or QR code points to your TacTile destination, and you can edit the underlying details anytime from the dashboard without reprinting anything.
What's the difference between Contact Card and Social Profiles?
Contact Card is built around vCard fields — name, phone, email, company — designed to be saved into a phone’s contacts app. Social Profiles is built around social account links that deep-link into native apps like Instagram or TikTok. See the Social Profiles guide for that path.
Which setup path updates automatically if my job title changes?
Connect is designed to reflect changes made in your source CRM or contacts platform, whereas Build and Link generally require you to edit the destination directly.
Can I include a calendar booking link on my Contact Card?
Yes — most Build-path setups support adding a booking link or website field alongside your core contact details.
Do NFC-enabled Contact Cards perform better than QR-only ones?
Generally yes — NFC-enabled cards retain users 50% better than QR-only cards, since tapping requires no camera app, no line of sight, and no fumbling to frame a code (Wave Connect / QRCodeChimp, 2026). QR still matters at events, where it drives 3× more engagement than a plain printed URL.
Is a Contact Card the same as a Link Hub with my info on it?
No. A Link Hub is a generic tile grid of links. A Contact Card is a structured vCard specifically formatted so a phone’s native contacts app recognizes it and offers a one-tap “Add to Contacts” prompt.
Can I have multiple Contact Cards under one TacTile account?
Yes. Teams commonly create one Contact Card per employee, each assigned to that person’s own NFC card, tag, or badge, all managed from a single shared dashboard.
